Sunday Worship Service
Emanuel Church, Hales Corners
United Church of Christ
We Would Love to See You in Person
Sundays at 9:30 AM
We All Need to Lean Into God From Time to Time
During the church service, our family of faith leans into God together
We all show up on Sunday with different emotions.
- Some of us are excited
- Some are joyful
- Some are sad
- Some are confused
- And, yes, some of us are even scared
It doesn’t matter how you’re feeling inside, you are welcome and safe here.
A Relaxed Atmosphere
We're interested in you, not what you wear
Come as you are!
We are very relaxed about appearance, even during worship services. You will find some people wear dress clothes and others shorts and sandals.
So, wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. You don’t have to worry about others judging you here.
In worship, we express adoration for God and give thanks for God creating us and calling us to become who we are meant to be. Sometimes, our attire is one way we enhance that sense of praise through self-expression.
Inspiring Music
From Organ to Contemporary
We blend traditional organ music with contemporary sound. While we use hymnals, we also project the words of songs on a large screen for easy reading.
We have one of the best organists around, and when he plays, the vibrancy fills the room.
Worship Service for All Ages
Including Everyone in Our Family of Faith
We believe that integrating children is vital for any family of faith. So, we invite children to participate in worship.
During the service, the pastor will lead a short Children’s Time. After the Children’s Time, those who prefer to participate in Sunday School can go to their classrooms (September through May).
For children under 3 years, they are welcome in worship. Otherwise, we have a volunteer-staffed nursery if that is preferred (September through May).
The Sacrament of Communion is offered the first Sunday of the month during the church service. All are invited to participate. After all, it is the Lord’s Table, not ours.
Activity Bags for Kids
There are bags with coloring books and other activities for kids hanging on a rack in the Narthex—as you stand facing the center doors into the sanctuary, look to your right. Please return the bags to the rack after worship service.
After Worship Service Gathering
Coffee and Snacks!
Worship is a communal experience. And after worship we have an opportunity for everyone to hang out together for a while.
We would love to hear your story and get to know you. Grab a coffee or juice and a snack or two. Let’s chat!
If you’re the type who likes to initiate conversations, just tap someone on the shoulder and say, “Hey there. I’m new. I just wanted to say hi.”
You are under no obligation to stay and talk, but it’s a great opportunity to connect with others in our community.
